Do you ever think how new you are to things? You walk into a new grocery store, and you’re new, you don’t have the aisles down. You drive to a neighboring town, one you’ve never had to stop before, until today.  You don’t know how to get to where you need to be. You’re new. Or you decided to take up golf. How do I hold the club? I’m new.

There’s a great deal of fear, whether you like to admit it or not, in being new. And being fearful, well, I’ll save that for another post.

I’m a new blogger. I’m also a writer, not a new writer, but new when I sit down for the first time in my day and start a new work or edit and revise an old one. I’m a writer of memoir and over the years have discovered my life lessons aren’t just selfish ones, lessons learned within my own Nancy world, but rather within the universe. Stepping out of my comfort zone into a place I might deem uncomfortable is where I find my challenge, my lesson. I hope to use this forum to hone my writing skills, to develop observations into stories, to not only try to read the world I navigate every day but also to understand life just a little better.

The hardest part is getting started. The easiest part is just being new here.
